Keilani's Comics

Welcome to the site! This is sort of a blog turned journal turned comic strip that I started about four years ago. I draw about what's going on in my life and the people who are important to me (if you're not in it, you're probably just hard to draw. or you haven't done anything funny lately). Over the years the comics have changed a lot, and though they've been few and far between lately, I'm getting back in the swing of it. Hopefully soon more comics will be on the way!

adan's costume

i think i speak for the entire wardrobe crew when i say that i am SO EXCITED to see adan in full costume. it's killing me.

costume crew for love's labours lost

i was so so so excited when brian asked me to work on the wardrobe crew for the show. and it's been an absolute blast. and cameron - oh man. downing lunchables at the speed of light while singing "don't rain on my parade". to quote him, it was a "bajunkajunk" of fun!

lab

and yet again, my scanner is being a pain.

passing out

sigh. weirdest thing ever. i got enough sleep, i had breakfast, i had water. there was no reason for me to wake up on the floor. grr.

voice problems

Web MD has never seen such frantic searching.

ghost of lauren

after drawing this, two things occured to me:
1. lauren doesn't know the greg-handcuffed-to-camille joke
2. greg and camille don't know the ghost-of-lauren joke

so i really don't know who my target audience was with this one.

songs on a guitar

wow. wow. i deeply apologize to anyone who plays the guitar, owns a guitar, or has ever seen a guitar. i don't know what those are, but i assure you they are not guitars.

and they don't even get progressively better as the comic goes on. they're all bad.

guitar case

and my drawing of a guitar case only slightly better than my drawings of guitars........

what do we want? more money! when do we want it? as soon as i get a job!

.....i don't understand how people can find jobs down here. there's a new fabric store opening up that i would love to work at. or the frozen yogurt place. i'm desperate enough to work at walgreens (though i will never work fast food. ugh). who knew you need so much money in college?

the wonderful library

i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the library here. it's so beautiful and gorgeous. (google it right now.)

and yet again, my scanner decided to be a pain in the pahookey. i need to fix it before it drives me up the wall.

oh and that face i drew for the last frame makes me laugh out loud every time i see it.

glass menagerie

so we had to read "the glass menagerie" for script analysis. it was better than i thought it would be, but that night i had the weirdest dream.....

homework

so, my scanner is being dorky and cutting off the top inch of the page. no matter how i turn the paper, it decides to be lame. when my parents were helping me set up the scanner, the alignment page was all messed up and.....yeah. anyway, i really really really really need to find a way to reset my scanner. it's annoying the tar out of me.

ancient greece

We're learning about the history of theatre architecture in stagecraft right now. it's way interesting, but i know a lot of it already from sellers' class (whoohoo). anyway, today we learned about theatre in ancient greece, and of course my mind was there (but always wondering... as always) so this is what came out. along with my actual notes. you should see them, they're impressive.

analysis with frezza

Frezza is one of the coolest teachers i've ever met. She's got the intimidation of mrs. leek, and the charm of that one lady who's always in the James Bond movies. Judi Dench, that's her name. now that i think of it, she's a lot like Dench. accent included. but she really makes things interesting. as soon as she referred to Hamlet's fate as "a real pisser", i knew class would be anything but boring.

reaching

i don't know why i feel the need to keep at least one body part on the bed at all times. but if i'm sitting on my bed, chances are i won't get up. even if there's something really important on the other side of the room. like the remote. i've learned to get creative though. i can reach the far corner of my desk with my elbow still touching the headboard. it's like twister, only two feet off the ground. i've learned a lot about how far i can reach and how its all linked to my center of gravity. college is teaching me so much.

first appearance of my roommate Sarah. she's super nice and funny. i totally lucked out. she doesn't have any dorky motivational cat posters and she lets me eat the lunch meat from her fridge. man, it's great.
