Keilani's Comics
Welcome to the site! This is sort of a blog turned journal turned comic strip that I started about four years ago. I draw about what's going on in my life and the people who are important to me (if you're not in it, you're probably just hard to draw. or you haven't done anything funny lately). Over the years the comics have changed a lot, and though they've been few and far between lately, I'm getting back in the swing of it. Hopefully soon more comics will be on the way!

sunday morning over on....wait... a baby and an umbrella?
burch mann. not birch man. like, a man made of trees. which is what i thought.
it was......so special. the umbrella and the baby was my favorite part. does she grow up to become mary poppins? we don't know cause they're only on for 20 seconds.
anyone who hasn't seen the dance won't understand any of this. but shoutout to payden, who made everyone laugh their guts out. while bringing in the sheaves.
sod huts
so every semester, in Design Analysis, harvey assigns half the class to research 1870 Kansas sod huts, and the other half refurbished french barns. the topics are so obscure that you have to do a good job of researching them, hence "research project".
if you walk into the library looking frantic, the research librarian will walk up to you and ask "sod huts or french barns?" it's super nifty, but they really don't like you for it. There's hardly anything in the library on either of these topics, which is why this comic is so absurdly hilarious.

and since he's leaving (which i'm very sad about) i want to build a giant sod hut in his honor. possibly in the shape of a french barn. just sayin'.
flowchart
someone recently asked me how i decide what to wear in the morning. i tried to explain that i usually put outfits together based on what they remind me of. like if i have a necklace that looks like a fish (i do, it's rad), then i'll wear it with the shirt that reminds me of that awful fishing pole commercial. probably not the best way to do things, but it's how i roll. needless to say, this totally confused the person, so i made a flowchart and took out all the fisherman references.
so many horses!
someone in the shop asked if glass menagerie was a musical. ......and now i want to write a really awesome "just like all the other horses" song. something heart-felt and soft. one of those under-a-single-spotlight type of things. or something really upbeat. laura could scat.

getting an MRI
so i spilled a drop of water on the last page, and it makes my smile look weird. but whatever, i didn't want to redraw the whole page. so just enjoy it. it's a feature.
student dance concert
the concert was amazing!! and this is my sad attempt at hadley's hair. thought he got a freaking awesome haircut now! so i'll never draw it like this again.
girl's bathroom door
i don't know what it is about the bathroom door in the music building... they are SO heavy!! maybe it's just my complete lack of muscle, but they're impossible to open.

a VERY jazzy concert
So an Australian jazz band from some college in Australia visited cedar city. and two of their musical theatre students performed numbers from Chicago. ... in really short skirts and sequins. when the first one walked out, Cameron and I looked at each other like "oh no...". Then later, in the middle of a normal jazz song, they both came out and started dancing again. but i thought they had gone for good, so when they came on stage again, i said "oh they're back" but i said it WAY louder than i meant to. :/ oops. all in all, it was an awesome evening. and the jazz band was super duper awesome. best keys and sax ever!
auditioning for jazz band
i can't remember the last time i was this happy. seriously! I wanted this soooo bad and i totally got it! practice pays off i guess.
